How do I “Top-Up”?

Once you are accepted under the Hearing Services Program you may have the need for hearing aids to be fitted. Those hearing aids supplied free to clients are generally a basic digital hearing aid and in many cases will be satisfactory depending on the hearing loss and social difficulties you are encountering.

You will also have the ability to obtain hearing aids with other technological benefits and features which may assist further in different listening environments. Clients can elect to contribute to the cost of a hearing aid by adding personally to the costs covered by the Government. This is called a “Top-Up” hearing aid. In these cases the “Top-Up” hearing aids generally provide a better result in more problem hearing situations.
